Russia will supply to Vietnam airplanes and build nuclear power plants – TVNZ

Russia and Vietnam have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the oil and gas industry, nuclear energy, trade and tourism. These are the first results of a three-day visit to Vietnam Dmitry Medvedev. On Monday in Hanoi Russian and Vietnamese delegations signed a dozen documents.

In the morning, according to the protocol Medvedev laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and the memorial to the fallen heroes. Then the ceremony of the official meeting between Medvedev and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. And right after that they held talks. In connection with the visit Medvedev center of Hanoi decorated Russian flags and placed them under posters of handshakes.

Vietnam is one of the fastest developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Over the past five years, the volume of trade between Russia and Vietnam have grown by an average of 20 percent a year. It is expected that this year Vietnam will sign an agreement on the establishment of a free trade zone with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union – Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia. According to Medvedev, the talks have reached the finish line.

– We are almost all parameters agreed, agreed on all fundamental questions – said Medvedev told reporters after the talks.

The delegations of Russia and Vietnam signed a plan on priority projects for this year. Total selected 17 projects. This, in particular, the promotion of the Russian passenger aircraft “Sukhoi Superjet 100″, supplying equipment for the Vietnamese power plants, construction, technological upgrading of enterprises and the creation of industrial clusters.

According to Medvedev, worked out the possibility of launching assembly in Vietnam Russian automotive and road equipment (GAZ, KAMAZ, UAZ), as well as the production of rolling stock for railways.

Currently, Vietnam has implemented about a hundred projects with Russian investments. Russia will build Vietnam first nuclear power plant and will help create a Center for Nuclear Science and Technology.

The Russian company “Gazprom” and “Rosneft” in projects offshore Vietnam. A Vietnamese companies involved in the development of hydrocarbon reserves in the Orenburg region and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. Countries intend to cooperate in the field of oil refining. Russia is going to take part in the modernization of an oil refinery in Vietnam.

Russia and Vietnam also agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism. Last year alone, Vietnam rested 400 thousand Russians.

– We hope that this cooperation will continue, – Medvedev said.

On Tuesday, the prime minister planned activities in Ho Chi Minh City, including meeting with representatives of the business community.
